Darwen energy recovery centre
SUEZ recycling and recovery UK’s application to build an energy recovery centre in Darwen, Lancashire has been approved by Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council.
The facility could create over 50 skilled and semi-skilled jobs, generate enough sustainable electricity to power over 60,000 homes and ensure Lancashire’s waste is diverted from landfill and put to good use as a valuable resource.
The successful planning application follows a thorough public consultation process which ran from Monday 28 January 2019 until Friday 08 March 2019. During this period, local residents and businesses were invited to review our proposal, leave feedback and make suggestions.
